At Chilekotha, the quarterly children's magazine published online, we are committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in publishing. These policies ensure the integrity of our magazine, uphold the trust of our readers, and encourage contributors to adhere to principles of honesty and creativity.

Ethical Policies

  1. Originality and Creativity

Contributors must ensure that all submissions—whether poems, stories, feature articles, or other creative content—are original and unpublished. Submissions that include recycled or reused content from other publications must clearly acknowledge the source.

  1. Respect for the Audience

Since Chilekotha is aimed at children, all submitted content must be age-appropriate, free of offensive language, violence, or content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or stereotypes. The magazine values content that is educational, entertaining, and inspiring.

  1. Proper Attribution

If submissions contain references to external works, data, or ideas, contributors are expected to provide appropriate citations. This ensures intellectual transparency and respect for other creators’ work.

  1. Copyright Compliance

Contributors must ensure that their submissions do not infringe on the copyright or intellectual property rights of others. Any use of third-party images, illustrations, or text must have appropriate permissions, and such use should be disclosed at the time of submission.

  1. Conflicts of Interest

Authors are required to disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence their submission. For instance, content written to promote specific products or agendas should be clearly identified.

Anti-Plagiarism Policies

  1. Zero Tolerance for Plagiarism

Chilekotha enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism. All submissions are checked using plagiarism detection tools. Any content found to be copied or closely paraphrased from another source without proper attribution will be immediately rejected.

  1. Contributor Responsibility

Contributors are required to submit a declaration affirming that their work is entirely original and free from plagiarism. This declaration should be included in the submission email or document.

  1. Rejection and Blacklisting

If plagiarism is detected in a submitted work, the contributor will be informed, and the submission will be rejected. Repeat offenders may be blacklisted from contributing to future editions of the magazine.

  1. Self-Plagiarism

Contributors should not submit previously published work as new content, even if they are the original author. If resubmitting a modified or expanded version of a prior work, clear disclosure is mandatory.

  1. Acknowledgment of Source

Any borrowed ideas, quotes, or references must be credited to their original source. Failure to provide proper acknowledgment will be treated as plagiarism.
