Chilekotha is an online quarterly children’s magazine, dedicated to fostering creativity and imagination in young minds. It welcomes diverse contributions that entertain, educate, and inspire children, including poems, stories, feature articles, and research pieces.

Types of Articles Accepted

  1. Creative Write-ups:
    • Poems: Original poems aimed at children and young readers.
    • Stories: Short and captivating narratives suitable for a young audience.
    • Feature Articles: Pieces that explore child-centric topics, cultural narratives, or unique themes for a children's magazine.
  2. Research Articles:
    • Articles focusing on child development, education, literature, art, and related themes. These should adhere to a formal, academic tone but be accessible to a general readership.
  3. Others:
    • Puzzles, quizzes, artworks, or comics designed for young readers.

Submission and Formatting Requirements

  • Articles must be original and unpublished.
  • Submissions must be in English, Hindi, Bengali, or any other Indian language.
  • Format: Follow the detailed formatting guidelines provided here.
  • File Type: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) and PDF for text-based submissions; high-resolution JPEG/PNG for artworks.

Ethical Policies and Declarations

·         Submissions must be original and unpublished elsewhere.

·         Contributors must include a signed declaration stating, “I confirm that this work is original and has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere in any form.”

·         Avoid sensitive, inappropriate, or age-inappropriate content for children. Contributions with any form of hate speech, discrimination, or plagiarism will be rejected outright.

·         A brief bio (up to 100 words) of the contributor should accompany the submission.


Review Process

  1. Review Timing:
    • Submissions are reviewed within 4 weeks of receipt.
    • Authors will be notified via email about acceptance, rejection, or required revisions.
  2. Review Method:
    • Submissions undergo a two-step review process, involving:
      • Initial Screening: Evaluating for plagiarism, originality, and suitability.
      • Editorial Review: A detailed content review for quality and language.

Anti-Plagiarism Policy

Chilekotha strictly prohibits plagiarism. All submissions are checked using plagiarism detection tools. Any work found plagiarized will be immediately rejected, and the contributor will be disqualified from further submissions.


Publication Rights and Copyrights

Upon acceptance, the authors grant Chilekotha the right to publish the submission online. However, contributors retain their copyright and may reuse their work elsewhere after publication, provided proper acknowledgment is given to Chilekotha. Contributions may be edited for grammar, style, and clarity without altering the core message. The editorial board reserves the right to reject submissions at any stage if they fail to meet the magazine’s standards.
